Educational Consultant; Social Studies and ELL Support

Chris has over 28 years in public and charter school education. He has served as a teacher, a Dean of Students, a Headmaster of School Culture and Climate, and a school Principal. He led his school in transitioning from the NJ State Standards to the Common Core Curriculum Standards. He also successfully led his school through two successful school quality reviews during his tenure as Principal after earning two master’s degrees in urban and Multicultural Education and Educational Leadership.

Chris developed teaching modules on topics including Implicit Bias, Antiracism, Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning, and Advancing Equity in organizations. He was hired to develop Equity Teams in over 20 high schools in the Bronx, NY, and then went on to serve as the Lead Reviewer in completing district-wide Equity Audits in Texas and Massachusetts in 2021. Chris was appointed to serve as a Board Member for the School of Research Science (SRS) US High School in September of 2023. In this work, Chris will support instructional improvements in the Science Department and school culture and support the academic outcomes for students at SRS US High School Dubai, UAE.

Dr. Adrian Mims​

Education Consultant; Mathematics Support

While Dr. Mims served as the Dean of Students at Brookline High School (BHS) in 2009, he launched TCP which was incorporated into the Minority Student Achievement Network’s “Promising Practices Clearinghouse” in 2011. In 2012, the College Board awarded Dr. Mims the Asa G. Hilliard Models of Success award for his commitment to closing the achievement gap for African Americans in mathematics and the Dr. Carlene Riccelli Assembly Leadership Award.

In 2016, Dr. Mims was honored by Amtrak and the Boston Celtics where he received the Amtrak Pioneer Award for his work with Boston youth through The Calculus Project.

In 2013, Dr. Mims left BHS to expand TCP in Massachusetts and nationally starting with two middle schools in Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) in Orlando, Florida, the ninth largest school district in the country. In 2016, the Minority Achievement Office for OCPS, announced plans to implement TCP in all of their middle and high schools. By 2017 OCPS had the largest percentage of middle school students passing the algebra 1 end-of-course exam in Florida.

After his work in Orlando, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recognized The Calculus Project as a Bright Spot in Middle Years Math in 2019, which resulted in a two-year development grant of $250,000. Later in 2021, the 1954 Project presented Dr. Mims with the Luminary Award and awarded $1 million to The Calculus Project Inc. to support the expansion of TCP to school districts nationally. To date, The Calculus Project has impacted over 10,000 students in over 100 middle and high schools in Massachusetts and Florida.

Dr. Mims received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Simmons College, a second master’s in educational leadership from Simmons College, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College.

Currently, Dr. Mims serves on the boards of Thrive Scholars, Accelerated College Experiences (ACE), Bridge Boston Charter School, Malden Catholic High School, and the Math Advisory board for EdVestors. In 2021, he served on the AP Precalculus Advisory Board and continues to work on education equity issues with the College Board, where he served as a trustee for four years.

Carron has a vast knowledge of the school review process and has conducted over 50+ school quality reviews where she has inspected and evaluated instruction, curriculum, school environment, and culture. Before becoming superintendent, she was a special education high school teacher, an assistant principal, and a high school principal.

As a former school superintendent supervising and evaluating 58 principals, she currently owns her own consulting business and continues to work with school leaders to support improved instruction and student achievement. She has received multiple accolades and awards since the beginning of her career and continues to work with her community.

In September 2023, Carron was hired to serve as a Board Member for the School of Research Science (SRS) US High School. She will be responsible for observing instruction for students with special education needs (SEN), examining curriculum, looking at classroom culture and environment, and supporting the academic outcomes of students attending SRS US High School.
